It was a nice trip to Tennessee. Visiting the Smoky Mountains and seeing the log cabins, the view of the forest, the sky and the peaceful environment is a breath taking experience. I wanted to purchase a cabin. In fact, I made a full offer for one of them. However, someone else was first in line therefore I did not get the cabin. The only drawback was the ten hour one-way drive to get there.
I made this trip together with Ron Weimer whom I met as a client of Fifth Third Securities as my Financial Advisor. I thought with Ron: "What if we could develop the same concept but close to home, here in Michigan? A place containing lake, forest, wild nature and log cabins?
So a partnership was formed and Pine Side Development was established in December 2004. Ron is very organized, hardworking and transparent person with whom I feel very comfortable with. It is our desire to bring to the community a project that will keep balance with nature and beauty.
Back in my country of origin (Chile, South America) I have been involved in community projects like church, hospital and school buildings. I studied Medicine in Chile, practicing there as a Family Doctor. Once here in the United States I did part of my training in Surgery in the West Coast and Anesthesia at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
Since November 2002 I have been a full-time practicing, attending Anesthesiologist for the Lakeland Health System at Niles Hospital.
We strongly believe you will enjoy Pine Side Resort. The log homes are beautiful and go along with the lake and forest. The convenient location, which is close to St. Joseph, South Haven, Chicago & Detroit. The surrounding area is a plus, so close but yet secluded in nature. Enjoy it!

It was a very nice trip to Tennessee over Memorial Day 2004 that brought this whole project together. I wanted to get away from the everyday stresses in life and enjoy spending time with my wife. We found a cabin in the mountains of Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge Tennessee to fulfill our desire to get away. We loved it so well that we purchased one for our family found @ YourCabin.com After our experience in Tennessee we wanted to bring the concept closer to home which is how our dream started.
My wife Laurie & I have four beautiful children who enjoy the outdoors & outdoor activities. Laurie has spent her career as a hairstylist and myself as an Engineer turned Investment Consultant. Our career experience serving our clients has given us the vision of what we want to offer in Pine Side Resort. You will be hard pressed to find miles of beach front & over 1400 acres of nature brought together in one resort. You will enjoy the area and what our development has to offer and never have to worry about a new development cutting down trees around you! Enjoy,
